Privacy policy

What I collect

When you contact me or create a portal account I collect your name, email address and, optionally, your business name and phone number. Invoices, plans, support tickets and documents you exchange with me are stored in your account so you can access them later.

Payments

Card payments are processed by Stripe. Card numbers never touch McBean Digital systems; I receive only a confirmation of payment and the last four digits where Stripe provides them.

Site analytics for client websites

Client sites on a care plan may include a lightweight visitor counter. It records the page path, referrer, device type and a daily-rotating anonymous hash. It sets no cookies and stores no IP addresses or personal information.

Google account data (Search Console and Analytics)

If you choose to connect a Google account to your website in the portal, McBean Digital requests read-only access to Google Search Console (scope webmasters.readonly) and Google Analytics (scope analytics.readonly) for that account. I use this access only to display your own site's search performance (clicks, impressions, queries, pages) and visitor statistics (sessions, users, page views, traffic sources) inside your portal, and to help you and me understand how your website is doing.

The portal stores your Google email address, the identifiers of the Search Console and Analytics properties you chose, and an encrypted refresh token so it can fetch updated numbers without asking you to sign in again. Report data is fetched when you open the page and is not sold, shared with third parties, used for advertising, or used to train any artificial intelligence or machine learning models. Only you (signed in to your account) and McBean Digital staff can see it.

You can disconnect at any time with the “Disconnect” button on your website page, which deletes the stored token and revokes the portal's access with Google. You can also revoke access from your Google Account under Security → Third-party apps. McBean Digital's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

How information is used

To deliver the services you've asked for, bill you, answer support requests and send account notifications. I don't sell or share your information with third parties for marketing.

Data retention and deletion

Account, invoice and payment records are kept while you are a client and for as long as Canadian tax and accounting rules require afterwards. Google connection data is deleted immediately when you disconnect or close your account. Visitor-counter data is aggregated and contains no personal information.

Your rights

You can update your details in portal settings at any time, and ask me to export or delete your account data by opening a support ticket or emailing me. Requests are handled within 30 days.
